Pulte does a poor job inspecting the quality of their installations. They prioritize speed and will accept risk if it results in a short cut. We had many issues with our kitchen and it was on us to find and report them. This put a lot of stress on us. We did not find all of them and are now stuck with some damaged cabinets.

We are not happy with the quality of the house built by Pulte. Our previous home was also a Pulte home and was in a great condition after more than 10 years. We are disappointed to see that the quality has gone down with the new house even though it is a more expensive home. There were many errors in the building process that we caught and had to bring to the field manager's attention. There were still many issues that need to be addressed after the closing.

The finishing of the house is below average and the price paid for the house seems pretty high. The corners are very rough and not finished as per expectations. Those were not smoothen for a nice look. The baseboards were left with holes; though the field manager send someone to fix those but those are still looking pretty rough. The paint on the baseboards is not smooth; it is still showing the filled holes different from the paint. The transitions and turns of the baseboards are not aligned and shows big gapes. The woodwork on the stair doesn't seem to be done by a professional at all; the ...

Pulte's home quality issues

Pulte did not meet our expectations with respect to the quality of workmanship of the house. There were so many drywall issues before closing which Pulte didn't bother fixing and asked us to close the home first and rest will be taken care right after closing. It's been 6 weeks since we moved in and our drywalls were not fixed as promised. They kept postponing dates and only performed temporary fixes and not resolving the issue as a whole. Due to this we are unable to settle down in the house as quickly as we could. If I could build a home all over again, I would go with a different builder.

Pulte responds to minor issues in a timely manner. However, I have no driveway, only rocks and front steps that are pressed wood. Very unsafe. Have lived here almost a month and they say “soon.” Why? It’s almost June. My back porch is about 4 feet off the ground. No railings.

After submitting an offer that was excepted, a deposit was made, and a very important item that was agreed upon was taken away. It’s tough and I could forfeit my deposit I was told I would not get the item after three weeks into this and there was nothing they could do about it. I was told I could forfeit my deposit if I didn’t like it. I was hoping after communicating back-and-forth for weeks on this item that it will come to a resolution that I was very happy with and unfortunately it did not. Another frustration I have concerns a privacy fence request that I submitted weeks ago. I have ...

We had a great initial experience while at the model home and home design process. There were minor issues which were easily resolved. Towards the end things went poorly. It was obvious there were milestones that needed to be met even if standards would be sacrificed. We ended doing our final walkthrough with the home being unfinished. There were literally walls that were unpainted and holes. When we closed there were actually still open holes with exposed electrical pieces. I received many apologies and excuses. It is now two months after closing and still receive intermittent emails about ...

The woman who handled our purchase has been great and has been very responsive when we brought up concerns. However, the man responsible for our home construction was nice enough, but we are still waiting a month later for him to fix problems noted prior to closing. Though he repeatedly told us that he would be with us for thirty days following closing. The warning about “getting work done before they get your money” could not be truer. He missed two options we had requested. The first was fixed prior to closing. The second was a double sink in the bathroom. There was only one sink ...

Disappointed in some of the bathroom fixtures, about as cheap as they could get. Frustrated that homes that have not closed have their cement sidewalks and driveways in and we have been hear over a month and still do not have our cement. Still are not graded either so we cannot plant grass. When painters came in to fix items they rushed and did not do a quality job. Front door repair looked like a 6th grader did the work. other homes being built in subdivision, so nails and screws all over the street and no-one ever cleans them up except me. Unfortunately, our experience after moving into the home has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. We have encountered multiple issues with the house that required attention, and the process to get them addressed has been slow, unorganized, and lacking accountability. Communication significantly dropped off after closing. It has been very difficult to get timely responses or clear updates on the status of our concerns. In some cases, we have had to follow up multiple times just to get basic information, which should not be the responsibility of the homeowner. What’s more concerning ...

We are writing this to show our unsatisfaction and formally document construction deficiencies in our home built by Pulte Homes. Following our pre-drywall meeting, we identified multiple issues, including gaps in the second-floor wood framing and flooring defects in the master bedroom, the other bedrooms and loft areas. These concerns were repeatedly brought to the construction manager’s attention, and we were assured they would be corrected. However, during the pre-closing walkthrough and even on the day of closing, many of these issues remained unresolved, including persistent ...

The contract part with Pulte was very smooth, however don’t forget to read the fine print. They have an exclusion which allows them not to pay the property taxes because they aren’t assessed at the time of the closing. Construction. What a nightmare. The subcontractors made multiple mistakes, the job site was filthy and the construction manager and his supervisor are not on top of the construction. The electric box was mounted within 6 inches of the gas line. Living in the home, so many cold areas, question proper insulation. Corner beads throughout the home. Very disappointed with ...

Your team is doing a great disservice to your organization with their shoddy workmanship, rude behavior and a seemingly transactional approach. In their haste to complete a home in 90 days they are forgetting that at a bare minimum the home must feel good to the occupants when they move in. Pulte’s contract is one sided, entitling them legally to do whatever they want. They can change your home, lot, site plan, closing date, etc. at will and you can’t do anything about it. They won’t even provide a discount when the changes impact the value of your home. We waited 11 months for our unit which they actually built in a hurry in 6 months. We purchased a new townhome built by Pulte Homes in Apex, NC, and unfortunately, our experience has been below expectations. The overall workmanship feels rushed and sloppy — issues we pointed out before closing were either covered up or cosmetically “fixed,” not properly addressed. After closing, getting anything resolved was an uphill battle. The sales and project management teams became unresponsive, and the warranty team hasn’t been much better.
