Plenty of issues with the house with workmanship and quality. I wouldn't be able to recommend Pulte just with the number of issues we've had with them. They did go to lengths to make everything better but that only eases the sting a bit. The house was A COMPLETE MESS the day of closing. Landscaping was not in. Carpet throughout the house had to be replaced a couple weeks after moving in. We had to continually nag the builders to get things fixed that were not right. Then it would be "fixed" and we would have to get things "fixed" again. Second time having a home built and was a nightmare. I ...

Like many other large companies Pulte sells stability and process driven builds. Our experience however was not the best after the sales processes. 1) We had 3 field manager changes and we did not get acclimated to the process until about 5 steps in. 2) While the field manager did his best to rectify issues, the workmanship of the house was still just a little off (examples below) a) our cabinet drawers are still very stiff and do not slide back and forth well with daily use. Of course during our walkthrough they made sure the drawers slid as well as they could. But as soon as we put 3 ...

I was lucky to buy another new home prior to this purchase. The home buying experience was pretty ordinary compared to the last one. Their inflexibility with options for a home that costs over 800k is laughable.

Pulte looks to be a better builder versus some of the other alternatives. There are some things which do not make sense to me, but I think you may find that with most builders (such as light switch placement, gaps in the garage below the garage doors etc.). After a not-so-happy sales, design center and finance experience(being very polite here), I was won over by the building super and the build process overall.

Pulte Homes responded:

Nice house, but highly unprofessional around closing time

The home buying process started off well and the house itself is nice, and there have been some quality people at Pulte whom we have encountered, but the problem we had near closing marred out overall experience. We were originally told the closing date would be around 5-6 months after we signed our contract, and we tried to communicate that closer to the six-month date is what we wanted. However, the house was built faster than planned. Normally this would be a good thing, but it wasn't for us because we couldn't move in that early because we were already on a rental lease at our old ...

I'm two months into owning my Home and I still have issues that have not been resolved. The house does look very nice as long as you don't look to close. When we first recieved our home most of our counter tops are dirty or have scraps all around the edges. Our stair way still has unpainted spots. they are small so its not the biggest deal but it shows a lack of attention to detail. Our Gas line for the heater was never even turned on! We had to find out the hard way that our heater didn't work by freezing in our home the first time it became cold out here. Our waps where not installed ...

Paid 290k for our home and over 45k of that was upgrades. You would think if you spent that much for a brand new home that you wouldn't have to finish work that should be standard in every Pulte home. Here are just a few exaples.... #1, upgrade for wooden blinds for 9 windows but no window sills. Seriously, just sheetrock ($60 of wood and trim would have finished the job). #2 upgrade to better stainless appliances and get the cheapest out there (Amana gas stove (even paid extra for gas) and Amana dish washer). Already called to have the dish washer warrant looked at because it won't ...

Pulte Fell Short of Expectations

We purchased our home in February, closed in July and moved in at the end of July of 2019. During construction, the house was always a total mess with garbage thrown everywhere and graffiti written on the slab. Prior to the house was not cleaned nor was it cleaned post-close. The issues that were noted on the walk-through were not addressed prior to move-in. We are now in the process (end of August) having the issues fixed. Our construction manager simply walked away and handed us off to customer service without completing the walk-through list.

Overall happy with the home, but finish work is pretty poor. Paint runs on walls and trim. Backsplash not installed correctly. Caulking ridiculously smeared on tile and cabinets from lazy clean up. Oven not level. Paint & stucco drops all over patios. Rust stains everywhere in garage. Scratches on windows. Warped closet doors. No trash bins in kitchen cabinet (waiting over 1 month now for fix). Just to name a few. Builder has been amazingly unapologetic about the lack in quality. It’s been inconvenient to have (and still have) workers continuously come to the house to fix things, and then not ...

Craftsmanship not up to par. Moved in two months ago and there are still fixes taking place on the home and yet to have a yard. Had to get on pulte just to get a rough grade on our yard and after 3 weeks finally happened by getting higher ups at Pulte involved and also getting with the landscape company. Very irritating that when fixes were to take place it would take contractors 2-3 tries to get it right. I would never recommend Pulte built home to friends or family and in fact i would steer them away. Don't get me wrong, we love the house and the layout but it is very aggravating to ...

Our experience with Pulte Homes was truly a tale of two very different teams. On the construction side, we could not have been more impressed. The craftsmanship and overall build quality of our home exceeded expectations. Even more notable was the communication throughout the construction process—timely updates, transparency, and a genuine willingness to answer questions made us feel informed and confident every step of the way. We chose Pulte largely because of the great initial experience with our salesperson, Vivian. However, that positive impression did not last. As the process went on, her demeanor shifted and interactions with my husband seemed dismissive. She was not present at closing, and when I came back afterward with a question, she did not recognize me. It felt like once the sale was secured, the level of service dropped off completely. I was promised that the necessary fixes would be completed after closing. However, since then I have only received apologies in writing, and I am still waiting. As of March 4th today, the broken windows have not been repaired. I purchased my home approximately three months ago, and unfortunately, my experience since closing has been extremely disappointing. The primary issue has been slow response times and a consistent lack of communication. Multiple emails and phone calls regarding concerns have gone unanswered for weeks or required repeated follow-ups before receiving any reply. We purchased a quick move-in home that required many small repairs, particularly regarding the quality of the finishing work. Several final touches were poorly done, especially the paintwork, and almost all doors were damaged at the bottom, likely due to improper handling when they were removed for painting. During our walkthrough with the builder, we pointed out all the issues we noticed. However, we were told that since the house had already been approved by the county, these corrections were not mandatory, although they would try their best to address them. We have not had a good experience. First we were living on our home a few weeks and we had an issue with our smoke detectors. I called the warranty number and was told it’s not an emergency and they will come in 3 or 4 days. It’s a state law in Florida that you must have working smoke detectors so I don’t see how having no fire protection for my family is not an emergency. Also I pay HOA fees for my lawn to be cut, edged and fertilized none of which was being done for my first two months living in the community.
