This is our first home and I'd say that except for a small detail we're pretty happy. So far we didn't find any major defects or things that can't be quickly solved with the exception of one thing: a fan on the roof. The architect (i'm guessing) thought it was a great idea to put a high power fan on the very top of the building, dead center in the middle on our master bedroom roof. We're trying to figure out, still unsuccessfully, what to do about it.

Pulte was responsive to our concerns of after sale issues. While the finishing painters were not the best and I would have a hard time calling the landscapers...landscapers, over all we love the house and are pleased with our purchase. Our salesperson was the best! And our coordinator for picking out interior design was also good, she really knew how to put everything together.

Do a thorough inspection of your new home. I found a few things that need fixing. Luckily it's under warranty. Door sticking, Rattling noise in the air vent, hole on the master bathroom dry wall, hardwood floors has scratches in bedroom, hallway, kitcken, kitchen cabinet pullout drawer where stuck missing screws, front porch and back patio ceiling needs to be repainted. I loved the layout of the house. And most of all, I do like the location it is close to everything. Kroger, Publix, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Target, Sam's Club, and fast foods.

Be prepared for construction issues.

Beware you can get decision fatigue from all the choices you have to make when you design a home from scratch. At one point we said yes to a shower head upgrade that Pulte charged $1,700 for and we later found on Amazon for $149. When we pointed that out, they were unwilling to make an adjustment. Otherwise, the buying experience was very pleasant. Unfortunately, our move in has been postponed indefinitely because of the corona pandemic, so we can't speak to how livable the house is just yet.

My home is very nice and seems to be well constructed. I did not go with Pulte mortgage or homeowners insurance; therefore, that was slow process.

The house is nice. It was built as advertised and it has the quality proposed for this type of home. In some areas it even is better then expected. All granite counter-tops have a thickness greater than what we usually see out there. This is only one example. The "BUT" on the title refers to the common area. The Swimming Pool is WAAAY different than what was advertised. I understand that it might change a little bit but dramatically reduce the size is not a small change. This is the type of change that was planned and definitely discussed and for some rea$on they decided to save money on that area leaving to the home owners something different than what they promissed. ... Overall i like the new home and would like to thank my construction manager Mr. Aaron who did a great job in helping fix many of the issues that i pointed before handover and after handover. He took great care of us during the final inspection to explain every single detail on how to take care of my new home , maintenance contact etc. I dont have to follow-up on the issues i mention, he takes care of arranging someone to address the issues. I really like his customer centric approach. Except for the initial hiccups with purchasing (lot prices not being considered equally) and price being hiked-up. i like my home and appreciate the construction team who built the house and delivered on time. ... Excellent field manager: his communication, honesty, hard work. Poor communication between different sales agents at Lemon Lake Office. Careful about changing structural options. Big penalty if you change your mind about ceiling height. Be very careful about incentives: Obsolete, non-energy efficient washer/dryer installed. Yet, refrigerator/freezer are fine. Poor follow-through after move-in. HOA Representative not available on closing date ( a Thursday). Finally available on the following Monday. Problems with gate entry closed at 6 PM. Awful experience with landscaping company: sprinklers on at 1 AM, spraying patio doors and furniture for 15 minutes on consecutive nights. Overall good experience so far. Have not yet moved in but no major issues to date.

Add an option for a "bumpout" in the garage.

We had a pretty good home buying experience with Pulte Homes. Though there were few initial hiccups around the time of closing and also after moving in, the Field Manager took care of all the high risk items after we moved in. Customer support from Pulte has been pretty good on fixing some of the urgent issues after we moved in. One thing we are not quite happy is we were not given a default white cabinets option during design center meetings, while another owner who was just around 2-3 weeks behind us in the home buying process were given a default white cabinets option. We ended up not going for white option as it was coming out to be pretty expensive. Another thing which is painful is the design center option bundles. We had to choose oil-rubbed bronze option throughout the house as there were not much options to pick and choose between bronze and other cheaper option for different rooms in the house. ... More

I am very pleased to have bought a condo at Highcrest from Pulte homes. Pulte Holmes has been around for a long time and can be trusted for offering quality home and a fair market price. The process of going through the purchase, mortgage(I financed through Pulte) and closing was an extremely stress-free and pleasant experience. The only surprise perhaps was that a garage space was optional and therefore came at an additional coast - this became clear only when started discussing the pricing. The overall build of the home was good. The issue was in the response times to minor repairs. There was often a delay of a week or more for simple repairs like drywall fixes, painting touch-ups, etc. What REALLY makes me question Pulte is what we discovered in our house about a month after owning it. At the time we purchased the home, we didn't notice anything, however gradually over a month of ownership we noticed a growing persistent odor permeating from the ceiling. It got so bad that we had to do something about it! We thought at first it was mold but after 5 days of waiting and investigations, I was discovered that there was a DEAD CAT that had bodily fluids all over the ceiling rotting above one of our rooms! Needless to say, we have been out of our house living in a hotel for about a week while remediation takes place. Pulte has not offered any compensation for our trouble and has not considered the amount of work I had to miss to manage this process.
