The bad experience started early. We bought in the very first month of releases, but when it came time to lock in the color of the home, our salesman told us our color choice was restricted because he allowed people who the month after us to pick first. Then they discarded all the rules on elevation and model locations, which means you have houses with the same elevation next to each other. Our communication with our salesman stopped when no work was done on our house for 2 months after the walls went up. We were initially told to expect a mid-July to mid-September closing. Our closing date was moved 3 times and we finally closed late November. People who bought their homes after us, moved in four months before us. Spec homes that were dirt lots when our house had walls up were finished and sold ,while we continued to wait. We were given many reasons and excuses for our house being delayed. Some of them might have even been true. The workmanship is generally shoddy. The painters are incredibly sloppy with paint splattered all over the floors and windows, hinges, doors, and baseboard. Most of our cabinet faces were damaged in the installation and need replacement. Many of our cabinets still don't have handles on them. Many of our windows are deeply scratched. We had an unsealed laundry stack that leaked into our roof. Our oven door got ripped off during installation; we have been told it cannot be properly repaired but a replacement oven is not available. Every day we find a new unfinished or unpainted spot. We did not receive many of our purchased upgrades with no estimated delivery date being provided. They did not inform us about some of the upgrades we didn't receive like a $3700 air purifier, which we found out about on our own. The gates have been an issued. The transponder reader has never worked. The gates got left closed during the hurricane so they broke and have remained broken and open, except when Pulte decides to close them without telling anyone or tellling them the gate code. Supposedly they were getting fixed in December. It's now mid January. Overall, the past 14 months has been stressful and disappointing. Pulte SW Florida should not be building homes in the $1.5-2+ million range until they get their quality control vastly improved. ... More

Recent owner of a Pulte home in Southwest Florida. For all the advertising about excellent quality work and what not, they don’t even do a fraction of it. They have taken on way more than than they can handle and just are just cranking through houses to get better numbers while completely ignoring quality. I have built a house before and know what to expect with any new construction. It was evident that there has been no supervision or oversight of the work being done. Workers are telling me directly they got maybe a fourth of time they should be getting to complete their work. I personally will not buy a Pulte home again and will never recommend it to others. I don’t care if it’s supply chain shortages or too much demand, you are taking my money for full price so I expect the returns to be full and fair. Get your stuff together and pay attention to your homes, not just how many homes your close. ... More
