Overall happy with the home I purchased. The Pulte realtor was excellent. Moved in a little over a month ago and am constantly having Pulte come out to fix things. Feels as if they rushed through the building process. Definitely inspect the home multiple times before your warranty expires. Considering getting a professional inspection as well. Would buy again if the price was right.

I love my new home. The floor plan is amazing. I feel like the crew was rushed to complete by the close date causing things that need work. No one has responded to my home inspection report.

Do not follow through with fixing issues with your home

Over all I am happy to have a home but they rush yo build the home and are sloppy with there craftsmanship. When we walkthrough the home with the site manager, he tells us to mark area with red tape and they will come back and fix it. They never fix it but the removed the tape as if they did. The site manager rushed us to fill out a survey. Saying the home was complete. He kept bothering us to fill it out. Once I filled it out. I didn’t hear anything back for him. We still have problems with the home. I font know what to do

Pulte Homes - Pulte is a cookie cutter builder.
- Richard L.
- Verified HomeBuyer
- August 13, 2020

Pulte is a cookie cutter builder. There is very little flexibility or customer understanding, Customer satisfaction takes a back seat to prepackaged home construction and no exceptions are granted, regardless of how logical the requests might be. All levels of management are virtually terrified to issue a "change order" for fear that their statistics will be negatively affected...but most of all that additional expenses might be incurred above the prepackage cost...even when the buyer offers to pay any additional expenses. Had I known their mode of operation, we never would have purchased ...

We bought a Pulte home in 2007. Loved it and still own it. We just bought this new house and the quality difference is abismal. Cheap paint, cheap toilet seats, cheap electrical craftsmanship, cheap roofing attention to detail, ceiling fan bracket recessed over an inch in the ceiling keeping us from hanging the fan properly, cheap stucco, house was delivered dirty, rusting back view fence upon delivery, over tightened light switch plates keeping the switches from operating freely, bathroom door rubs on door frame, etc... for a house that we paid 352k on a 232k base model. Do an extremely ...

Kitchen cabinet for the waterfall island was misplaced. When i asked why, i was told that's the way the vendor made it..which didn't make sense. A week after moving in, i noticed the island wasn't done properly. I reached out to the field manager. Was told that's the way they did it. This wasn't true as that wasn't the case for another home i saw. Till date the issue has not be fixed. I gave a 3 star overall cos other aspect of the home was average.

Love our home, but some issues

We love our home, but we quickly found out that some things were looked over by Pulte. Our counters, which were suppose to be sealed, did not get sealed and we found out the hard way with stains sinking into our granite and unable to come out. Also they covered up our water softner drain, so when someone came to install, we couldnt finish because the drain is no where to be found. We've reached out, and we know due to covid we were on a waitlist, but its now into June and we have had no call back to get an appointment set up to fix these issues. Again we love our home, but the care after has ...

Make sure the project has everything working and complete before you close. They promise and extend and are difficult to pin down a time to complete even though they use those workers to do their own homes rather than repair the items that were wrong on your home. We were luck to have a very good foreman to work with.

Waiting for Follow up

Covid 19 impacted our walk thru and moving in process. There's been no work or follow up in the 2+ months we've been in the house. No 7 day check in, no 30 day follow up and there are 3-4 issues that need addressing. We were told 2 months ago that things will be addressed when Pulte resumes that program. Still waiting-no communication/updates. Frustrating.

Rigid Build Process, Even When Builder Can Save Money.
- Gregory M.

In an overt effort to mass produce moderate-quality homes, the builder is absolutely rigid in making changes that would save them costs of materials yet they are overtly willing to guide you toward upgrades with 600% markup margins. The only smart move with builders such as this is to purchase the home at near base price, do diligent homework on acquiring upgrade estimates outside of closing and then decide how to proceed with the builder. For us, those moves were an as-build base kitchen, base carpet, base tiles, base paints and no structural wire upgrades. Builder wanted nearly $200k for ...

Project manager tried very hard to stay on top of crews, but fell short in drywall and paint. Drywall was not installed properly and we tried to hang a ceiling fan only to have 5 nails pop out in the ceiling. Down the hallway you could see the drywall bow and swerve in and out. Paint in carpet, across tiles and in the grout; which was never sealed, not even in the wet rooms.

Love the home....'however' in one day and at the same time I had 4 contractors here fixing things that should never have needed fixing. Replace the mirror in master because of defects, 'repairing' master marble sink (what, its supposed to be brand new?), fixing shoddy drywall, repair sliding glass door. Truly believe Pulte purchases '2nds' and uses them in new homes to cut costs. A number of items in my home that needed replaced, repaired should never have been in a new home. Have spent a lot of time with people in and out getting stuff fixed and then discovering more. You begin to feel ...

We started the paperwork for our new home on January 28, 2019. We also worked with two other mortgage companies for our loan. We where putting 50% down and financing 50% with the intentions of paying the house off in 5 years. We got home on February 5, 2019, which I spent 2 complete days getting all the information to all the mortgage companies for their underwriting companies. After 2 weeks we where pre-approved for the loan with the other 2 loan companies and our own bank. Pulte mortgage people we worked with where Sally and Sarah. They were really great and went the extra mile to ...

The design center was the worst experience. The base price of the house is not even close to a realistic price unless you want poor quality materials. The trades are not paying attention to detail and are just rushing the jobs.

The sales process went well. The start of the build process also went well. We decided to build with Pulte since we had a great past experience with them. Different area, different people and service I guess. The quality of the workmanship was below average. It looked like they just did the work without any care. It definitely shows that it was just a job and not have any care in what they do. We still are waiting for issues to be fixed after a month and multiple inspections.

I am not happy with the quality of the upgrades for which I paid such high costs. Upgrading the master bath to larger shower did not include better tile on walls. Then what was installed is plain white with out any design or detail. Upgrading the kitchen and cabinets did not meet expectations because with the filler space between the oven and microwave makes me believe that they are box cabinet which looks cheap. The best part of my review is because Jordan was/is a great project manager and was very helpful in solving issues.

Second pulte home I had built and must say that the first time was a Much more Pleasant experience for a Number of reasons: sales Was not familiar with the new models (cosenza) so some things that were told to me turned out not to be true. I felt very much rushed and pressured during the closing process and pulte Was not flexible on modifying dates for closing even though I mentioned I had a death in the family. Don’t like that pulte mortgage sells my Mortgage. On a positive not pulte seems to still build a pretty decent home however this interior flat paint seems to be cheap as it stains, ...

Poor customer service, not responding to the issue. As the forgein buyer, they took an advantage and did not treat our concern seriously. We only requested the issue due to the different material was using in my new house and was not selected when conducting the upgrade at design center. We were not requesting to remove it but give us the certificate for the material, never heard any response back. Won’t recommend people buy their house .

A number of issues came up after I closed. At first the construction manager took care of the immediate corrections. i.e breaker replacements, electrical door panel, switches malfunctioning among other numerous items. Then on the weekend following my move, I was left with no outlets working in the kitchen and the gas stove not operating because it had no power to ignite the burners. The construction manager turned me over to customer service on a Thursday only to be told that an electrician would not be available until Monday. I told the agent that was not acceptable but I was totally ...
