Disappointed by the little things

Overall, we seem to have a sturdy, structurally sound house, which is the most important. But I have been surprised and disappointed by all the little fit and finish issues that I just didn’t expect to have. I don’t see any pride in the workmanship, in making sure everything was in excellent condition before we moved in. I love my house and would probably do it over again, it’s just sad that the finishing touches were so rushed and overlooked.

Good News, Bad News

Workmanship is quite good for this price range. The folks doing the actual construction were very knowledgeable, helpful, and quite responsive. They get high marks for trying to do everything right. The sales personnel is a different story. We found them to be less than candid in many areas. There is also an apparent lack of communication between Lennar and their subsidiary companies, making the whole purchase process unpleasant.

Townhomes

Have had issue with way they constructed pipes. For the townhome community, the back flow pipes are above ground. A car hit mine and it is not under warranty so I had to pay out of pocket According to the plumber, it happens often. Not swel thinking on the design.

The issue I have with Lennar is them making promises and not keeping them. For example Carol told my wife and I that we would be getting a stone fireplace if we purchased. When we were ready to sign she quickly switched up and said that they no longer offered that. I don’t like when people lie to get a sale. Our construction manager promised my wife and I that we would get a plate cover for the tubing behind the washer and dryer. We moved into our home in October 2019 and the plate cover is currently still not there. It’s disappointing to spend all this money and receive bad service

I’m sorry to have to leave this comment but we’ve lived in our home for ~6mos and this issue is still as relevant today as it was when we moved in. Our new home was painted with flat paint all over, to include the bathrooms and kitchen. I have never heard of such a thing. I thought Lennar has been building homes for decades and definitely expected this to be a lesson learned many years ago. This is such a negative financial and visual inconvenience. We Can Not practice home maintenance as the walls can not be cleaned up. My husband was a painter for 5 years (residential and commercial) and ...

Good but not excellent. I gave the review good but not excellent because the structure of the building is good but the finishing touches is not great . The plumbing fixtures are very cheap we’ve been here for just four months and some of them are shaking from the walls already, The door knobs are very cheap as well And for a new homeowner I feel like you have to just move in and relax and not stress about stuff like that. The last thing is how do you build a whole complex with 2 dog parks without a play area for kids ?

Definitely lots of issues closing, things to correct and fix after the purchase, some things what were done via a shortcut and we still haven’t gotten our touch up paint kit. The style and layout of the house is great and the color scheme is what we wanted. The size of the lot and location is why we went with Lennar.

We had multiple issues with cracks in the wall as well as the counter tops cracking. The floor not sealing right, the nail gun staples for the carpet poking through the floor. During the new home orientation I felt very rushed when there was multiple issues that needed to be corrected.

Purchased home after a huge fiasco regarding pricing. Felt like I was dealing with a fly by night home consultant. Had to make a deal with the finance department after the quoted price jumped $40K in two days. Bumps along the building process, mistakes fixed. The kitchen island support and other walls are so crooked, hanging pictures is challenging. We finally have a home warranty rep who appears to be getting the ball moving on several repairs. If the house did not have a spectacular view, we would have bought elsewhere. A production home is a production home.

Purchasing a home for $660k I would expect the home to at least be ready and for the workmanship to be perfect. There was a lot of things that were done incorrectly and I had to get corrected after closing as well as things that look half finished with little effort done to it. Again not what I expected after spending so much money on a home and with the caliber name of Lennar.

The employees are very helpful and the customer service is great. The actual materials used to build the home are not the best...Cabinetry is very flimsy, lighting is minimal and poorly laid out as well as the wall switches.

If they would just do what they eventually do, in a more timely manner, they would be a much better company. You must keep pushing them to get them to do the things they should do without repeatedly asking them.

Poor quality control of subcontractors. However, when the home owner identifies problems, they are quickly repaired.

The finish work is not that great and when you in your work order and they come out to fix their mistakes they make it worse and so you just end up giving up. Most of them do not speak English so you can't communicate with them.
