Mortgage specialist was horrible

I went into closing thinking everything was set and costs were set. I get there and the cost increased $10k. The closing agent and I called the loan lady Ali who was very rude and accusing me of not reading what I signed. I advised that I can walk away from the deal and her response was good we’ll keep your $5000. In reality the information was never given to me to sign so it seems like Ali didn’t do her job. We spoke to her boss who I get doesn’t know the specifics of what was presented in the loan but there was no accountability on lennars part to make it right. I was just told that’s ...

Buying with Lennar was a nightmare. From start to finish the process was a circus. By the end of this adventure I was ready to pull the plug and start back over with a new builder. 100% would not recommend Lennar.

The process started out good, we were working with Ali initially. They transferred out case to Heather H. And everything fell apart. She continually called to ask fir documents that were sent 2 to 3 times already, still I was patient, until she contacted us on the day of closing asking for paystubs and w2's. Now keep in mind these documents were sent at the very beginning of this process. I asked her if this was normal to ask for these things on day of closing. I am licensed real estate agent, and this purchase is the worst experience I experienced in over 30 plus years in the business. I worked with Lennar previously and things did go smooth, but not this time. Things that went wrong : 1) I had a contingency to be respected. My experience was and still is a nightmare. I was looking at Townhomes because of a change in my life circumstances. I felt I could manage a Townhome on my own. I qualified for financing through Lennar Mortgage. A salesman by the name of Zach showed me a couple of models. Purchased home was not cleaned from construction. Never can reach the HOA. HOA does not enforce rules.

Items on walk through list were only partially completed - for example sealing of door gaps. Tile floors throughout were spotted with glue and paint splatter and not cleaned. Wall paint is horrible - gently wiping removes existing paint. Master shower floor grout is a different color near drain and we were told it was soap scum after 2 showers. No it was not - scrubbing by us changed nothing. Pantry shelving was cut too long and not in the cradle hardware. This should not have taken weeks to remedy. I expected to move into the pantry sooner than that. But - worst of all - our lanai pavers ...

Quality is terrible. Warranty work for major issues is also terrible. Mold in home found 5 days after closing. House was leaking from multiple points around entire home. Pool patio flooded with 15 minutes of rain.

Everyone understands that purchasing a new home can be more than more stressful things you do. The lack of responses from the mortgage team is very poor. Creating more stress for the family. There has been multiple issues with the home. The floors still look terrible. There are multiple areas in all the rooms where you can see the layer of cement still on the tiles. I would not recommend buying a home from Lennar. The materials used in their construction are extremely cheap, resulting in numerous issues that they refuse to fix. Poorly finished walls due to defective materials. If you're looking for a high-quality, well-built home, I strongly suggest exploring other builders.

I know that buying a new home always has challenges, but for me this has been a nightmare. The biggest thing is that Lennar pushed the build to close a month early which led to all kinds of quality issues and financial complications.

Awful Buying and Construction Experience

The buying experience was awful, salesperson was not very helpful. No communication during the construction process at all. No clue what was going on and no questions answered. I spent a lot of money on a house and no one at Lennar cared for quality and craftsmanship. Why not spent a little more money on quality materials so the homeowner can move into a quality built house (ex. hurricane windows and doors in the entire house except front door glass, why?).

My contact during the build was supposed to be Sam. 99% of the time he couldn't answer my question or sent me elsewhere. I was rushed to close so much that "Move in Ready" was "Move in Mess". Overall, not what I expected. Sadly, Lennar was once a decent home builder, not any longer. Lennar are now all about the bottom line and keeping shareholders happy - a production builder! I owned a Lennar home in Wellington, Florida and Colorado. Both were decent homes. This home has been pulled apart within the first month of closing. The drywall removed to correct simple issues. This is my second home with Lennar in the past 4 years. Closed in April, still have not been able to move into my home. Expenses have multiplied however no home. Lennars home buying experience is horrific. From the lies that the manipulative realtors spew, to the horrible workmanship. Their goal of Lennar is to only complete a house to 90%before closing. Punch lists are never completed. Extremely manipulative to women. Take total advantage of. Do not buy a Lennar home.
