Sales was the only this we are satisfied because of Adrian . We closed some of the work which was pending promised to be taken care of later like landscaping it’s has negative slopes which happened while installing sprinkler system

Our sales person was not the greatest or most knowledgeable. We got many answers from them that were incorrect and ended up costing us in the end. Our construction manager was great but it seemed like the construction team cut corners and did not do everything correctly or to the best of their ability. We have some issues that still need to be fixed but we are having trouble getting them out to fix things. Overall, our experience was ok but would not build with them again.

For the price I paid for my home. I am very surprised of a lot of the issues, that I am coming across. And, when advising of the issues, I am not getting them resolved. I asked, since I am not getting issues resolved, if my warranty be extended. I was advised no.

Nice looking homes, but some quality control issues

The KB homes at Ventana on Lincoln CA, are nice. We where one of tge first families to move in, and everyone we've met have been nice. The office staff, and the kb homes construction supervisors have been great as well, even through this covid 19 challenged time. Now the excitement of taking possession of the home, and finalizing mounds of paper work, and contracts, time for the details. If you buy a home, take your time, inspect every inch, dont be rushed, bring a trained eye. We are excited to own our 1st home , the price/value is great but then when we landed in home it started falling apart , there are number of issues like Gas leakage , Tank-less water heater not working , ceiling lights popping out , gaps on edges of stairs etc . The person who did our home orientation did not take things right way to address them and always we need to claim to south bay homes and depend on their availability. Have nothing but good things to say about KB Home sales staff! Helpful from beginning to end. That being said, it's been nothing but frustration getting things fixed and fixed correctly. Poor workmanship and no response are the main issues.

Overall I think KB Homes are good homes to buy. This is my second time buying a KB Home. The first home I purchased was in CA 30 years ago. Great experience! This is my second KB Home. It is in AZ. Not a great experience! I was mistakenly expecting the same customer service as my CA experience. I will only mention the major problem because of time. The home I purchased was completed in June 2019. I looked at the house in December 2019 and decided to purchase it. We moved in at the beginning of February 2020. I went with the one stop shopping with KB and thought that was a great idea and it was up until the end. The mortgage company stinks! They don’t communicate in anyway. I was very nervous with making my first mtg pyt, setting up their online payment and through the whole process they never communicated once. A good thing I kept checking the site then I had to email them to see something wasn’t set up right. I went through every other company (utility) and they were awesome, but not this mtg company. What a sad way to end what was a good experience.

My only complaints have to do with the quality of the build. I've had trouble and continue to have trouble with the white tile flooring that I had installed. There were red stains all over the house (and there still is some), but I just gave up after the 5th time they sent someone out to clean it. Also, our dishwasher and washer have already flooded the house causing damage to the floorboards. There's patches in the paint on the exterior and paint in some of the outlets inside. Other than that, it's just been minor fixes, but easily prevented issues.

Sales staff was amazing with helping find a lot and floor plan that fits my needs. After that we took a wrong turn somewhere. Once the slab was poured, I identified an issue missing with a missing the rewire for the floor outlet (contract stated before slab). Brought it to the builders attention, his response was it should be there if it's on the contract. Fast forward a week or 2, they had to cut the slab for wiring, bit it was in. During the build had typical issues that were address prior to closing, normal finishing issues. Moving on to closing... So we had a closing date scheduled and ...

If you go with KB home, be really careful with your studio selections. Purchase as much of that as you can outside of the studio. And check on your home weekly as it’s being built.

They set the expectations high based on all the things they say/share and provide for documentation of the process yet it didn’t seem like they actually followed through with it. I guess it could’ve been worse but definitely not as great craftsmanship executed in the building of the home as they sale nor are they consistent. Make sure you use a realtor to keep you in the best interest and not just be another “Lot”. Overall the experience was okay but at the end of it all we had to “clean” a brand new home to move into.

House construction was delayed by 4 months, which is understandable to some extend but it wasn't easy dealing with temporary place to stay and having your mortgage rate lock expire since KB kept sending inaccurate closing dates. The home quality itself is ok. For being a new home I was expecting better quality in terms of finish. To mention a few things: nails sticking out the middle of the carpet, some gaps between floor and wall base, uneven layout of floor tiles that make a room look like its longer on one end than the other. For the most part we have been pleased with our new home. The part that we are unhappy with is that throughout the process we have been told many things and the timing of them getting done or getting them done the right way has been a pain. Especially with our front yard area. The plans always seem to change with KB and they don’t always seem to know what’s going on and their answer to solving a problem is that they will find out and let you know but then they never let you know.

Make sure you have a realtor when you buy your KB Home. They respect realtors and ignore homeowners. You'll need someone to ensure that KB does the job and someone who can get you discounts on mistakes they make. Also, spend the money on an inspector no matter what the sales people say.
