Had I known that KB Homes does not stand by the products in their homes I would never have bought a home. I will never give a positive referral to friends and relatives, as a matter of fact I have told everyone that they should never buy a KB home. I will be going online and making a scathing post about how horrid this company is.

Responsiveness to issues is zero. They were supposed to have a 10 day walk through with me after packing into the house. They never did. I have called, gone to the sales office and reported issues in the new house and up till this moment nobody has gotten back to me. One of the issues I have is the toilet. It doesn't flush properly, nothing is occluded the passage. Probably an engineering error, I would guess. It's so frustrating that I just packed into a newly built house with just one toilet in a four bedroom house. This is really a bad experience. Very bad quality of finish and materials

We have been here 6 weeks and still the house is not complete. Poorest workmanship I have ever seen. Have been promised numerous times for the completion but, to no avail. Front door was to be painted completely blue which was what we had picked out in the design studio. The door is only painted blue on the outside. Paint droppings on all floors. Several closet frames are 1/2 inch different from side to side. Transition molding in kitchen is not secure. Seal on one window is coming off. Sorry we bought into this house. Walk out the back door and you roll down the hill. Not level at all.

Everyone was kind, but the house has many things to fix and several details and they have not communicated or told me when they come…

Closing date was changed several times. No exact dates. After the closing construction crew didn’t do what they had promised to. Hard to get in touch with them. No incentives or anything. No proper house gift from sales rep compared to other builders.

First we were three weeks past our estimated closing date. So we were expecting the home to be “finished” when we closed. There were numerous items not done or working. Heat did not work for over 5 days. Loaner Kitchen fan not working. Missing outlets in living room and outside. And the house had not been cleaned. They promised touch ups in thirty days, it’s been two months no touch up. List is too long to put here. We’ve had several phone calls with customer service and supervisor. They promise to get on top of it, but rarely update us. They also promise to visit and do not show up. Our neighbors have problems with their homes as well. To be honest, we love this area but would probably not would not have bought from KB. Definitely not recommending KB for any community. ... More

Great support from sales team but poor and slow support from construction, engineering and customer service during and post close.

Is a good experience to buy a house from KB but the quality and the response is very bad overall.

Now that we have been here a few months, we are noticing an alarming number of issues. Windows are leaking when it rains, drywall inside is wet, soft and peeling from rain outside (i can literally put my finger through it), windows that wont lock, grout completely cracked open on the kitchen counter which is now allowing water from the leaking window into the cabinets which will ruin them and cause mold, kitchen cabinets not properly installed at the floor, broken patio light, AC did not pass some type of inspection, door handles through out the house all coming loose, water coming in from the bottom of the sliding glass door, not to mention all the cosmetic issues of paint and caulk all over the floors and light switches that we have had to scrape off (and still are), paint stains on the carpets, nails sticking out of cabinets, uneven paint on the walls….the list goes on. Not what you would expect from brand new construction. It is apparent that many corners were cut while building this house. We gave a long list of issues several weeks ago and have yet to be contacted to have them fixed. We are very dissatisfied with the quality if this house and are finding more issues every day. ... Schedule a pre-drywall inspection in addition to a regular inspection before closing

The home is wonderful and an awesome value. The only issue ws the mortgage process, never been so felt raked over the coals, and we have very good credit. But the team got us through it, and we couldn't be happier!

Dahlia and Joey were great to work with. However, the underwriter(s) were terrible to work with. They made me feel I had to prove I was giving honest answers to anything and everything. Took them so long to do things that I needed to pay extra to get more time to close

This could've just been the whole housing market in 2021. Four months after signing, our home was still a dirt pile. But weeks later, foundation was poured, the structure went up fast & filled in soon after. The default paint may scrape off easily in places, but everything else has held up well. Maintenance staff has been helpful around the house too.

The home buying process was a highlight but the information and professionalism from KB Home sales rep was frustrating with misinformation after misinformation. To customers: do your homework and make sure all information provided by KB Home sales rep is accurate or written on official documentations.

When it comes to KB, workmanship is up to par. The PM team is very knowledgeable and attentive to your building needs. KB sells team and relationship building needs work. They are not transparent and are not very personable. They are thier to sell you a product, and thats it. Recommend working with a broker outside KB and expect to be on your own.

Everything was fine until we had to redo the Loan the day before closing. Other than that things were fine and as expected

The process with Kb Home has been interesting. On one hand, there are very nice floorplans and lots of options to semi customize your home. However, my experience was a bit challenging because no one shared details with me of the KB Home process. There were disconcerting moments with the sales department, design center, and with the loan processing department, in particular. I have had several challenges getting a response on some issues and currently even with the title company that KB Home uses.

There were issues not accurate represented before or during the final walkthrough. Primarily, there is a significant termite infestation throughout the entire neighborhood. Another issue is the water meter was completely broken and is still not fixed. KBHome never even informed me of this issue, I learned this when the water utility company told me they can't setup an account until it's fixed. With that said, I am still happy with the home. You generally get what you pay for. Important too is that KBHome is significantly better than other production home builders in the area.

Do not use Kb lender , they don't know how to calculate mortgage payments ,certain people don't calculate correctly and even told when there wrong. This was also addressed to Nick the manager and still the issue is occurring.

As with any escrow there were some minor issues that came up. The big problem was the closing. Everyone at KB knew from day one what my drop dead move out date was for the home I sold and I was told no problem. Then I was told on the last weekday before closing that if I provided the closing statement and full down payment by Monday that I would be able to close late Monday and pick up the keys. I provided what thy asked for before 9am on Monday and was told everything was going smoothly. A couple of hours later I was told I may not be able to get the keys until Tuesday, which I could live with. We had taken Monday off in order to be available to sign paperwork and pick up the keys. Once they confirmed that we wouldn't get the keys on Monday we went into work. Shortly after I arrived I received a call saying that things worked out and we could sign and get the keys, so I headed home so we could drive up to Corona (an almost 2 hour drive for us), then the calls started coming in about every half an hour to 45 minutes changing from we can to we can't and back to we can again. This continued until about 2pm when I finally decided we had better start driving just in case we can complete everything. When we were about 15 minutes from the escrow company I received a call from them saying that they had been copied on all of the emails from earlier in the day and that they had no clue why they were telling me it would close as they still hadn't received the paperwork and nobody was communicating with them about it. I was told that the earliest they could do it was Tuesday and that we wouldn't be able to pick up keys until Thursday (Thursday is 2 days after I was to turn possession of my home over the the new owners). We turned around and started heading home while also calling KB who told us that we were definitely closing today and to ignore what escrow was telling me. So once again we turned around and started heading for escrow. Just as we parked in their parking lot I received a call from KB saying that we can sign the paperwork, but won't receive the keys until Thursday. Had we know this we would not have driven to Corona to sign as the original plan was for KB's notary to come to our home to sign everything. It was a little before 4pm when we arrived at escrow who closes at 5pm. I then had phone calls with the KB home loan rep, her direct supervisor and a couple of other people from KB who all refused to turn keys over as promised. I had been told the reason I couldn't get them on Tues was because it was too late and that I couldn't get them on Weds because it was a holiday. I found out later that the real reason was because the sales agent had already gone home for the day and that Weds was her day off and apparently nobody else at KB knows how to turn keys over) Finally the manager of the escrow company offered to call KB corporate office and get someone who could help as I was refusing to sign and was ready to back out of the deal altogether if I wasn't getting keys as promised. Went back and forth with that person for a while who was also refusing to guarantee I could get the keys. About 4:45pm I told him that I was walking out the door unless he sent me an email stating that if I signed the paperwork that I could pick up the keys and he said that I had to sign before he would. I then told him that if I signed that I lost any leverage I had of getting the keys and he said I already had lost my leverage as it was almost 5pm. I then reminded him that this particular home had already fallen out of escrow once before we made an offer and that while I realized I would loose my earnest money that I would still have plenty of money from the sale of my current home to purhase one from one of their competitors. This was our first time purchasing a home and to say it was stressful would be an understatement. Nevertheless, the team here at KB had our back especially the builder Jeff.

Buyer beware. House was great, great building superindent ( very important). Land services were shoddy. Landscaping was terrible. Lot not level, large drop off but on my property.
