The long delay to get it built then the hurried rush to get it finished.

We closed at the end of August and the house still has many punch list items that have not been addressed.

Sales rep, very helpful. Several issues with home during walk through, 6 weeks ago still have not been taken care of. Workmanship terrible, last incident, Clothes rack in walkin closet fell completely off the wall. Been 10 days and no drywaller to fix the problem. Issues with monthly house payment, failed to include escrow amount in the payment.

Paid for a premium lot on the preserve and we were told that fences were to be built a certain way. We were even shown examples of the few homes that did have them. A month later there were 3x more fences and not to the standard of what we were told by the agent. There are now 6ft and 4ft tall solid fences that ruin the aesthetic's of the preserve as well as block our view. Have complained to HOA and property managers but no one responds. Also very hard to get things fixed in a timely manner so you better be down here full time to get stuff fixed or you will be spending a lot of time away from your family. We have big things like the fence, two different color counter top colors, cracks in concrete, cracks in tile grout, window seal broken in kitchen and piece missing, air not coming out in front room and so much more. It has only been a little over two months since my closing date, and my homebuilder, Tyler, is no longer responding to issues that I've brought to his attention for the past month. The main issue now is the irrigation system. I've paid over $2,000 in water bills for a five week period. In a past phone call, Tyler accepted blame for the issue, and we discussed a reimbursement plan. I have followed through with that plan, and Tyler hasn't responded to my email, texts, or phone call. I'm not willing to accept that loss, so it looks like I'm going to need to contact a lawyer concerning that issue. Further, when I responded to my first KB survey and had issues (mainly a home inspection report that I got after closing that showed problems with the roof), I requested that someone other than Tyler to contact me, and KB simply had Tyler respond to my issues. I'm sure KB won't publish this review without contacting me, so I'd appreciate it if someone higher on the ladder at KB than Tyler will contact me. ... More

I waited on doing this review for things to get fixed but Im just constantly let down. Appointments missed, appointments where people come out with no materials, craftsmen coming and making more of a mess, I am just not happy at ALL.

We have had MANY issues with the house and NONE have been resolved to date!

Many problems with floors, paint, tile, cabinet and more have made what could have been a great buying experience. The home has energy saving devices and insulation that can save a lot over the years but the nagging problems that remain makes me warn people I talk with to look somewhere else. Punch list items will not be taken care of. So if you don't mind getting irritated every day when you look around at all the problems that have been ignored by KB Homes, you might like their townhomes in Ormond Beach. Couple things to think about if you look at their townhomes, the units on the outside of the street have two parking spaces in their driveway whereas the units on the inside only have one because the sidewalk is in front of the units on the inside of the street. Also, units on the outside can park in the street and partially on their lot for a third space where the units in the inside cannot again because of the sidewalk. One of those things you don't even think about until you move in and notice your neighbor across the street has 3 cars parked there and you can only park one. ... More

We closed two months ago and are still awaiting major repairs, roof, driveway, flooring etc. maybe buy a fixer as the work would be done more timely and to a better standard.

We are very disappointed. We made a list of items that need to be fixed. We were told contractors were coming but we had mostly no shows. We would text and make calls and no response. Painters came in to do touch ups. No drop cloths and got paint on our rugs. My wife had to get paint out. There are no transition strips down and the rug is fraying. Never have I seen rugs installed and transition strips not put down. We only been in the house 3 months. The ceiling in the lanai is wavy due to the trusses/rafters being bowed. Garage floor is full of stains. Ledge in garage is crumbing. Tile in kitchen is crooked by 2 inches and the wall is not leveled. Tiles in master bathroom are beveled. The cement outside the house is sloppy workmanship. We had to go back to Pennsylvania for several weeks and we were promised that the work was going to get done. So far we been home for 3 weeks. As far as we can tell since we have cameras we only saw two people outside our house. We saw no one go in. We were promised pictures as the work was completed. So far we haven't received anything. I expected some problems when building a new house but was shocked at the subpar craftsmanship and communication I experienced during this process. I still have many items on my to-do list that I brought up before closing that haven't been addressed four months later. After moving in, I was rushed to take my 30-day survey early and pressured to give a good review, even though one was not deserved, and then literally forgotten about. This whole time, I have been patient and understanding as I know they are busy and overworked, but sadly, that has only gotten me pushed around and overlooked.

There isn’t enough room here to cover everything that didn't come remotely close to meeting expectations. My advice to prospective buyers, do your research and look for options elsewhere.

Your company suck. Wouldn’t tell my worst enemy to buy from your company

Too many issues to list, workmanship is subpar, KB says they will send back contractors to make repairs and nothing gets followed up on. Disappointed, just bought the home and considering trying to sell it.

We purchased a KB Home in Las Vegas and had a great experience. We purchased a more expensive home in Florida and it has been a total disaster from the day we got here.

Closing was set for March 24th. I did everything on my end to make it happen. The house needed at least another month's worth of work to complete along with a water leak in a bathroom. It was ridiculous to see. No hole for a dryer vent, broken trim, concrete in the garage a total disaster with spills and chipped concrete along with noticeable cracks already. Finally closed on May 15th with issues still existing. As for the inside of the house, I told the Superintendent I would finish the inside of the house myself because it was obvious the subs don't care about quality and don't have pride in their work. Some of the subs were outstanding in their work as far as flooring, kitchen stove, AC, and sprinkler system. The painters and trim sub contractors are terrible. And to have a toilet paper holder over 4 feet from the toilet is so laughable and I shared it with the Superintendent. The cost of this house as to the quality is totally lacking and way over priced. The Superintendent is a good man, but he doesn't have the ability to get quality workers to finish homes correctly and I can tell it bothers him. If I would have known KB Home was this bad with the finished product and what they try to sell you, I would have never done this and I will not recommend KB to anyone I know or care about. I also doubt this review will ever be considered because I have seen how the subs are allowed to turn out a product that does not meet the standards of quality. KB Homes are a nightmare!

It wasn’t anywhere close to the experience we had hoped to get from purchasing our first home as a family. And unfortunately, we can never get that back. You live and you learn.
