K. Hov is based on production. There are things that should not be encountered in a new home. We noticed some contractors work on what is best for them and not the esthetics or the home. Investing in contractors and having enough contractors to work in a home would be beneficial so they can deliver on time and to your standards and reputation. We foresee having issues with water setting in one area of our backyard. Please note, Jamie was a pleasure to work with and he was ALWAYS responsive. Overall KHOV is a good builder

My experience with K.Hovnanian overall good.

Having never purchased a model home before it was a little different. As far as the house goes, the quality of materials and quality of construction met or exceeded our expectations.

Project manager was very responsive. On a weekly basis he updated us on what had been completed and would would be completed in the upcoming week, keep us informed.

Builder was excellent to work with especially after we moved in to our home.

So far I am enjoying my new home and any issues are being addressed.

For the most part I am satisfied with our new home. The project managers and sales guys were the best part of this experience. They were easy to work with, responsive, helpful and very competent. The corporate side was not so good. They did not work with us on any small changes we wanted to make no matter it didn't effect the house. Very inflexible on just about everything. If it wasn't for the sales guys and PMs, we probably would have walked away from the house. The standard interior options they give are a joke. And upgrading anything is very expensive. Add to the misery, the upgrade options are limited. Best of a bad situation. You can choose the standard options if you want to live in a expensive low rate hotel room. They force you to upgrade everything to make your house look like the 600k house it is supposed to be. The paint is terrible quality. If you look at it wrong or think about touching it, it marks up and if you try to wipe it the paint comes off. The corporates would not let me buy better paint. Now to have have the interior repainted, on a brand new house, will cost 8k-10k. The driveway, though paved is insufficient unless you have only vehicle. We will see about the sod....they are replacing a significant portion right now. I dont know if the landscapers put much effort into the job. Throwing sod down and not preparing the ground seems a waste. It looks good just long enough to close. Again, the PMs and salesmen have worked hard to make right what issues I have had since closing and have gone out of there way in that regard. The 4 star rating is for them and them alone. ... More

More attention to details would improve the experience

Disappointed in some buying experiences with KHOV. But overall we rate it a 4 star.

Some things I like and some I dont.

The company should be more upfront with answering questions, pertaining to the home building process.

Tricia, Art and Kristen have been excellent! We have found some of the workmanship to be a bit shoddy. We feel certain that the issues will be corrected.

My home is solid and tight and overall lovely but the details, the ones you pay big for because they are lumped in packages or you were charged for making a modification, are sloppy and/or missing. Upgrading a room means paying for the layout, not upgraded materials as you will still pay for those at the design center. The design center offers a few options only, especially at the grade 1 and 2 levels. Even when upgraded, things such as knobs, kitchen faucets and shower doors are extra. The electronics office, picking out internet/automation/lighting/securtiy systems is super high pressure and not enjoyable in the least. Both design center and electronics were beyond slow at getting the materials to the me/office putting my build behind schedule. The building though was efficient and fast. Once built, the trim work in the home is sloppy in areas. Things like nicked wood or raw edges on trim are covered in spackle and painted over. Nails showing or popping through wood, and cracks in cabinets are left unattended...it's careless construction in what could be a perfectly beautiful home. The landscaping is basic and done with very inexpensive plants, cheap trees, too many shrubs. Overall, I do like my new home and the people I worked with are very nice and helpful. The salesman was charming and responsive, the construction managers are all informative and helpful. I would work with the people again but likely not get another khov home. ... More

quality and finish of house is not as expected

quality of workmanship and materials are really good. communication is really poor rather than that over all its good.

The home buying experiencewas strong for the most part, but communication was severely lacking from our salesperson, Joe, at times, and that somewhat soured the buying experience. But we do appreciate Casey, one of the construction managers, who went the extra mile for us prior to our settlement and orientation. More importantly, we've had to report a dozen or so small repair requests since moving in within the first three months, and while about a third of them have been fixed in a timely manner, most have not, despite our 1-year warranty. We've had to chase down staff to follow up on repairs. None of the faults have been major, except a leak in our master bathroom sink (the drywall had to be pulled out, and it has gone unrepaired for months). The paint on the walls is extremely thin, so it's incredibly easy to scuff or dirty the walls, but overall we're grateful every day for a house of this quality at the price we got it at. ... More

Responsiveness to issues is hit or miss. Sometimes its immediate, and sometimes I have to track down and pester people to get the problems addressed.

Sales people and on site construction supervisors were professional and responsive. Finance personnel were were not always professional and somewhat none responsive. Overall good experience.

We hear loud noises walking on the upper condo which is unbearable. Floor should have better noise reduction system.

Good overall. Everything is good quality, just some things a little rushed, but they're responsive with the fixing. Only downside is the price, as it is everywhere. Overall 4/5. Free upgrades I think it deserves for the price: installed smart thermostat, smart doorbell (so it's easy to replace), and at least one HVAC vent in the loft, since it's quite the pricy upgrade and it gets VERY hot in the summer, and VERY cold in the winter. My AC unit unfortunately doesn't heat/cool at the moment, so I might be extra bias on that one.

Too soon to evaluate the quality of materials. Only been here three months. We are concerned that much of the structure of the latest building being built needed to be torn down and is scheduled to be redone.

The sales process was handled by Russell very well with weekly photos of the building progress. The closing process went OK. The Builder did not have the county permit on the day we closed therefore we could not get our keys to our new home. The Builder also failed to provide proper documentation to the Post Office to validate all the new addresses at this location. We are still having problems with companies unable to update our new address in their systems. Our address is NOT in the US Postal Service data base. The condo is what we expected.
