This is our second build with Highland and again completely satisfied.

I was very excited about the opportunity to move north of Dallas. I love this area! I believe the best quality living is north of Dallas. After the decision had been made to move, we had to find a builder who was both affordable and reliable. I asked my previous builder who he would recommend and he did not hesitate recommended Highland Homes. I would have to say I am fairly impressed with the quality of the work. It is a few things I would have liked to see of a little bit better quality. For the most part, I believe we have a builder that will help increase value in our home and make our home very marketable if we decide to sale in the future. Highland and their employees did a great job of getting us into our home in a timely manner. Any flaws we've uncovered since we moved in have been quickly corrected. We're very pleased with them and recommend their homes highly.

We had looked in the Wildridge community for quite some time - at all the builders. We had decided to go with one of the other builders until we just happened to go back to Highland and learned of a new floor plan we had not seen. Not only was the floor plan perfect for our needs but further looks at the build quality showed us it was a touch better than what we had been looking at. All in all we are well pleased with the build out, time frame, communication, desire to please and get it right and have been in for a couple of months now. Concrete and brick work is very sloppy. Not what you would expect for a new home. Also a few issues inside like widows not being square.

Quality of the construction could have been better. I have seen a lot of minor issues within the first month of moving in. However, I do appreciate the responsiveness towards fixing the issues.

Overall happy with house. Painters were careless and completely missed some spots. Some request during construction were completely ignored. Cabinetry work was less than ideal.

To make the home your way, the items are limited to the design center. Didn’t understand if I was willing to pay for upgrades, why I was not allowed. Was not asked which landscape item I wanted

Having good models but the prices are overpriced than market

This was the fifth home that my wife and I have built. Our second home was a Highland home as well. This was the most difficult build. It took 13 months to build our home. We signed the contract in August 2023 and construction finally got started in January 2024. Although Highland has a reputation for building quality homes, this time, the workmanship and materials were just ok. Our biggest frustration was with the workmanship of the contractors. Multiple times for a contractor to come back and fix poor workmanship. Also, our builder had just too many homes to oversee resulting in things being missed, broken by other contractors, etc. We asked to close by the end of August but after meeting with the builder and sales person, they ask to extend to September 18th to give the builder time to have everything done. The week before September was a mad scramble trying to get all the contractors at the house to try and finish. We did close on the 18th but still had a lengthy list to continue to get fixed over the next 2 weeks including cabinets in the kitchen with no shelves. Now after 5 weeks of being in, our house is together and we’re happy with the house. I don’t think we’ll ever do a new build again. I will say this, our builder worked tirelessly helping us but working with sloppy contractors and too many house given to him to oversee made his task almost unbearable. ... More

Collin Thompson, the builder has been nothing short of amazing. When i moved in, there a few ticket items that needed to be addressed. The previous builder was dragging his feet on them. Collin swooped in and took over l and men, I can't say enough how professional, attentive, efficient and kind he was to my needs. He went way above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of and in a timely fashion too. He was very flexible with my schedule. He was patient with me. He delivered 1000%. And maintained communication with me every step of the way. Thank you so much Collin for such a great experience so far. He even got his hands dirty himself for my sake. Sales team is good and the experience was great. The building team is not as responsive. Overall, the quality of workmanship is good.

The buying process have been smooth except that there’s a lot of pending issues of the house that hasn't been fixed until now and it's been 2 most since the closing date. They knew about this issues before the closing date and we have been patiently waiting for them to fixed it. The builder even told us during the buyer's orientation that they will have a 1-month follow up after the closing date to check if how is the house, but no one came, I guess there is no such thing as that. I hoping they'll be more responsive and act timely not just in words but in action.

Great floor plan and many options to make the home unique. Only concern has been the quality of work and finished product. There was an expectation that some things would need a warranty call but there has far too many from the day we closed to today, 3 months post close.

We bought our home in 2023 and it seems to me a home over 535K shouldn't have particle board kitchen and bathroom cabinets instead or wood and vinyl tile flooring instead of real wood floors. Every room has the same exact light fixtures in the ceiling. There just seems to be a lot of cost cutting in the build. We'll find out how energy efficient the home is this next year.

I do love my new home. Mainly due to the location and neighborhood. I love the Trinity Falls community. I do feel the inside products are very cheap as well as the paint job.

overall the buying experience was pretty straightforward and smooth.

We love our new home There are a lot of little things we felt were not up to highland standards. Like using higher quality light switches and having handles and pulls on cabinets. Seemed to take short cuts on little things.

I like this builders quality and efficiency

Highland Homes as builder had a good name but in the recent home buying experience I felt little bit different. The construction work took one year to complete and the work was not up to the standard. Even though after pointing out lot of issues and errors in construction it took too much time for them to correct it. The repairs which were supposed to be done prior closing was left out and I was told by the builder that it will be done asap, but it was a false promise. Even today those repairs which was supposed to be done prior closing is not done and I was told to submit a warranty claim for those repairs. I don't understand why should I submit a warranty claim when it should have been done as a part of building process. When I went to the sales office to get more info about this, I was told not to come here and I was advised to contact the person responsible for the construction about this. I send emails but no answer yet. I felt this negligence during the construction period and in many occasions I witnessed slowness. ... More

The house is well design overall. The price was reasonable.

The staff at Highland are amazing, very trustworthy and responsive. The quality of the house is medium - I believe because they are building so many at one time, the time to ensure details (i's dotted and t's crossed) need improving. I would suggest they ensure a team at highland is conducting a thorough check before the house is released to the buyers (lots of details - paint especially was not well done, and comparing to my former custom built home in a different state - material quality is low). It is not as stressful because the staff is very responsive to ensuring 100% customer satisfaction, so that makes a big difference. ... More

Beautiful Development and community, my protect manager Bryan has been great to work with, every week sending an email to give me updates on the progress. I love the house however I been disappointed in some of the finishing touches and the workmanship of some materials, I know eventually everything will be fixed.

After Sales service is not up to expectations by any means and i hate to record tons of claims for warranty

We’ve been in our new home almost two months and have had issues with getting our punch list items resolved since moving in. We have been in touch with our construction manager, and he has been responsive towards us about the fact that they are “working on it”, but at this point even items we have submitted a warranty for are going unamended. Our walkthrough was rushed because of a pushed back closing, but with the idea that a walkthrough takes place a couple weeks before closing so the punch list can be taken care of, it’s frustrating that two months after moving in we are still waiting for this punch list to be completed. We love our home, but it is still incomplete and it seems at this point that we are being given the run around so that issues will be forgotten rather than fixed. ... More
