The overall house is good. Some of the work seems to have been rushed through. Little things here and there are not what I would call great but satisfactory.

Finish details inside and outside could be better. There noise on the vents, the door chime was broken inside the mechanism and fixed with a piece of card board. The doors don’t seal well. Little details on the painting on some doors. I know there is more. But don’t have it on top of my head.

Our experience with highland homes was for the most part a pleasant one. From start to finish the communication, customer service, and punctuation of our build timeline was exceptional. Tracy and James together made our experience pretty painless and exciting. Looking forward to making our house a home now. Thank you!

Great value but sacrificed quality in workmanship. After moving in there were little things that went wrong. Refrigerator was damaged upon delivery and still has an issue after being replaced. Pillars in the patio area holding up the roof has a gap which is perfect for insects/termites/pests to enter the home/attic. Garage cable that retracts when the opening the garage snapped. Countertop in master bath where it is caulked between the wall and countertop is cracking/peeling. Needs to be recaulked.

Ensure contracted workers are not souring Highlands name by their workmanship.

Sales & Construction teams both exhibit professionalism.

Not the same quality of workmanship of build like our last HH home built in 2008.

Don’t like painted hinges and brown windows in a gray house

Highland has a good reputation and now after building a Highland Home I see why. Any issues I've had through the building process were addressed and handled to my satisfaction. I again would build with Highland.

We have enjoyed purchasing a Highland Home and feel that it is truly a beautiful, well built home. Their response time to any issues we have had has been very good and we are overall very pleased with our purchase!

Water saving plumbing fixtures require multiple flushes (no water saving) Expected comfort height toilets as in model, was not told it was an upgrade Several doors hung improperly, don’t swing freely to close Cabinets hand multiple nicks and gashes Excellent exterior brick work, roofing, landscaping, flooring installation, walls and painting, electrical fixtures, heating and cooling system

I love my home but there are things that highland does not offer that my last 2 builds did. I built an over $300k home and the lights they put in the bathroom cost $15. I wanted to upgrade those lights but it was not allowed. I wanted a seat in my shower, but it wasn’t allowed, I wanted a farm sink but it wasn’t allowed. I had all those things in my $338k home in Ohio. Other than that the home is beautiful and Shawn has been amazing.

All has been great with the exception of our backyard holding water. Cant get issue resolved via the builder or warranty... mosquitoes/ mud/ dog... needs french drain or crushed granite to resolve..

Great home for a great price.

I have been pretty happy throughout the process. Several of the issues I have logged were resolved quickly. The only outstanding issue is one of the biggest. There is standing water on both the side and back yard far longer than acceptable(48 hours). I have requested resolution since the day I bought the house but the issue has not been resolved. It is a good thing it is not against the directly foundation but considering the size of the yard it is not acceptable to have standing water in those areas.

They were responsive to our requests and concerns.

The house is beautiful and many of the small issues have been fixed or can be fixed. It seemed that some of the trades that were hired were not as attentive to their work as I'm sure Highland would have liked. For example, take a look at any fence in the neighborhood and the way the nails were put in (no attempt at a straight line). The issues brought up in home inspection and walk-through could have been avoided had more attention been paid during construction.

make sure you are happy with the construction manager as they are instrumental in the building process.

This is our third home, and it is the best yet! We love this house. Patrick is also super responsive to our concerns.
