Constant delays

While we understand supply chain issues, the lack of communication about said issues causing a three plus month delay in closing was difficult to deal with. Losing a project manager during the build added to our frustration. The quality is acceptable and most problems are addressed in a timely manner but I would not have expected quite so many issues in a new build. The staff has been very pleasant and conciliatory but clearly over booked as additional construction moves forward.

Working with Kristen Springer was the best part of buying our new home. Kristen is a real asset . She follows up and answers all questions. The actual process of working with sales was difficult and at times confusing.

Check every step of construction.....get private inspection prior to drywall installation and prior to closing. Pay special attention to electrical issues and upgrades. There have been numerous issues for which I question if licensed electricians have been hired. Although I have not been pleased with construction issues, field managers have been wonderful in correcting issues. I have had three field managers, Nelson Riggs, Chris Nelson, and Rodney Daniels....they have been fabulous and very trustworthy....

First and foremost, salesperson and home foreman were great and totally responsive, the same cannot be said of anyone else there...what was to take 6 months took 10, impossible to get any real timing or info, houses bought after us were done months before...GM basically said he has two years to build home and would be happy to let me out of my contract (um nooo since at that point they were charging $60,000 more for my house...) we are in now , finding some issues, but the warranty gentleman is awesome. BTW it is IMPOSSIBLE to find a phone number for Pulte/Del Webb corporate , not online, not ...

Hurried construction in difficult circumstances

The crown molding on the cabinets in the laundry room fell off two weeks after purchase - it just fell off! Also, the builder was unable to show us how to work the irrigation system - just didn't know. Houses are being built very rapidly in circumstances where there is difficulty with delivery of materials plus probably some tightness in finding construction labor. We are basically happy with our experience and our purchase, but it is clear the process is strained and perhaps being rushed.

We were impressed with the model homes and our salesperson was awesome. The construction supervisors were awesome. However, the quality of the final product was very sloppy. Lots of paint splatters on the new floors and outside on concrete, cabinet trim not finished professionally, dishwasher that doesn't work, just general lack of attention to detail.

The home is sound structurally, but the finish work leaves a lot to be desired. For instance, we have been waiting over two months for the kitchen cabinets to be completed. It is simply unacceptable. Paint quality is terrible. The paint itself is low quality and in many areas of the house it looks like a three year old did the job. We are still waiting for the promised paint fixes, both interior and exterior, to be completed.

Buyer has no options on some issues. Painting color selection, failure to finish garage, process for buyer to review plan to ensure design meets expectations and buyer knows what they are getting. More through involvement by buyer at key stages. Seven foot garage doors and layout of drive way needs to change.

I'll put the ending first - now that we are settled in our home, we are very happy. The community is wonderful because the people who live here are wonderful. And we like our home. The experience of having the home built was fraught with issues and disappointments. At one point there was no progress on our home for over two months, which delayed our opening and caused us to have to extend our rentals. The only reason given was that they were waiting on an inspection. We did everything we could think of, including sending an email to the Pulte customer service people that they refer you ...

The home is beautiful and the build time was acceptable considering the COVID delays in building materials and appliances. But I had trouble getting my field managers to respond to me with the issues I had with the house, before and after I moved in.

The purchase process is very smooth and efficient. The construction process moves along quickly but communications throughout the process is terrible. We knew very little throughout process and when we tried to communicate concerns or special needs we were ignored. Also care for property is not much of a concern during construction. Our hardwood floors were installed early on and not covered. We spent days cleaning them and now have 30 plus boards that must be replaced.

Paint drips, overpaint, crooked outlets, vents, drawer handle, light fixture, missing screw in door hinge, when water is on, tapping behind the walls, very annoying..….this is my second new home purchase. First home little to no issues…can’t say the same here..Pulte people are responsive.
